欧盟确立电子电气设备六种有毒有害物质最大限量
欧盟委员会于2005年8月18日在布鲁塞尔通过了2005/618/EC决议，该决议对2002年颁布 的“在电子电气设备中限制使用有毒有害物质指令（2002/95/EC）”进行了补充，明确规定了电子电气设备中铅、汞、六价铬、多溴联苯和多溴联苯醚的 最大允许含量为0.1%（1000ppm），镉为0.01%（100ppm），此限值的出台为判定整机、元器件等产品是否符合RoHS指令 （2002/95/EC）提供了法定依据。
